Upgrade (2018) Netflix Movie Review : This one made me nostalgic by remembering my favourite movie from the past called Robo Cop. It is set in near future where technology plays an important role in humanity. The plot twist towards the end is too good and unexpected. Though a low budget movie, but it is done well in all aspects of film making. Logan Marshall Green who plays Grey Trace reminds one of Tom Hardy and he has done well. Grey is happily living with his wife. One fateful night Grey’s wife is killed and Grey is paralysed neck down, with only his mother to take care. Eron meets Grey and offers him a neck implant called Stem that would allow him to regain the control of his body. However, he needs to sign a non disclosure agreement. The surgery is successful. Grey goes home only to realize Stem not only allowed him to regain the control of his body, but Stem communicates with him and could take control of his body in the time of need. When Stem takes over then Grey becomes almost super human and does things which he couldn’t normally would be able to do. Whether Stem would be able to support in taking his revenge or not? You need to watch the movie to know that. It is a solid revenge drama action thriller with some gore. It will surpass your expectations as it has an unique concept and a plot twist in the end that will surprise you. Don’t give in to negative reviews and give it a chance. Highly recommended. My rating is solid 8/10.
