This one is the third English movie I had seen in the theatre along with my father when I was a kid. I became a die hard fan of Superman after watching this movie on big screen.Christopher Reeve was/is the best Superman till date. I started reading and collecting Superman comics after this movie. In fact, my craze went to such a level that I was seriously praying to God to give me super powers like Superman, so that I could save the world like him! I used to put on a towel behind my shirt, jump from chair to table shouting, “I’m Superman!”

I still remember those days when I used to gather my classmates during P.T.period and tell them stories from movies that I had seen with my brother Shekar during my summer vacation. Especially, Superman movies! I used to argue with them saying that Superman did exist in America! My best enemy used to argue that Superman was fiction. Whereas, Phantom was real and lived in the jungles of South Africa.
Well, coming to the movie, I have seen it many times. No one could play Clark Kent/Superman like Christopher Reeve, the film is now a classic! The movie had everything : Drama, action, romance, great special effects.
It is one of my all time fav movie and part of my collection. The movie is till amazing after so many years..
Never watched it. Will check it out.

Nice post. I felt the same way when I first saw Superman: The Movie at the theater in December of 1978. When my dad drove us home, I remember looking up into the night sky… the John Williams’ theme running through my head… thinking and dreaming that he could, and should, exist.
