Tourist Family (2025) – Tamil Movie Review : Today, I watched two Sasikumar films back-to-back, and Tourist Family truly stood out. It beautifully portrays the journey of a Sri Lankan Tamil family who illegally immigrates to India in search of a better life. The film captures their emotional highs and lows with remarkable sincerity. One striking aspect is the distinct dialect of Sri Lankan Tamil spoken by the immigrant family, adding authenticity to their portrayal. What makes this film especially memorable is its ability to seamlessly oscillate between humor and heartbreak. You find yourself laughing and tearing up—often in the same scene.
Director Abishan Jeevinth makes an impressive debut. It’s hard to believe this is his first film, considering the emotional depth and maturity he brings to the story. Every character, no matter how brief their screen time, leaves an impact.
The two young boys deliver standout performances—I wish I knew more about them. Sasikumar once again proves his magnetic screen presence, and it was a joy to see Simran return to the screen after a long time.
Tourist Family is a heartwarming and poignant experience that deserves to be seen and celebrated.
