The charm of Panchayat continues in Season 4, with Chandan Kumar’s writing once again striking a perfect balance between humor, warmth, and village politics. The characters remain as endearing as ever, and director Deepak Kumar Mishra maintains the authenticity and emotional core that made the earlier seasons a hit.

From Jitendra Kumar’s understated brilliance as Sachiv Ji to Neena Gupta’s solid portrayal of Manju Devi, the performances are heartfelt and consistent. This season shifts focus toward the high-stakes election campaign between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi, offering a mix of drama, satire, and subtle commentary.

Two new characters—Rinki’s Nanaji and a little boy named Bill Clinton—steal scenes and add freshness to the storyline. The romance between Sachiv Ji and Rinki continues but feels underexplored; their moments are sweet, yet too few. I personally wished for more emotional development in their arc.

The season finale doesn’t quite deliver the punch one might expect. While the plot wraps with a tone of quiet disappointment, the story clearly sets the stage for Season 5. However, the anticipation doesn’t feel as electric as before.

The pacing does feel uneven at times, and the narrative stretches a bit too long in places. Still, Panchayat holds a special place in the hearts of its viewers for its relatable storytelling, grounded characters, and gentle humor. It’s not perfect, but it’s still very much worth the watch.

A bittersweet season that reflects both wins and losses—much like life in Phulera itself.
