Brinda (2024) Telugu Web Series Review: This one is actress Trisha’s first web series, and it is well done. Though the story unfolds rather slow, but it engages the viewer from start to finish with its intriguing and compelling story line that has suspense element running throughout and ends up being a good thriller in the end. The major plus point is the treatment of story that appears natural and realistic. A first-time Telugu director Suraj Vangala managed to bring together an ensemble cast from Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema. The real suspense was that it kept me wondering which was the original language of this web series. I kept switching between Telugu and Tamil. Sometimes, it started playing in Hindi by itself. The screen play is so immersive making audience forget the real world for some time. Trisha stands out playing a cop perhaps for the first time, if I am right. Though Trisha’s physique may not seem suited for a cop in uniform, she brilliantly portrays an introvert sub-inspector with a traumatic past that keeps haunting her like a nightmare. Some of the twists and turns have been down well. While the rest of the story seems quite predictable. Anand Sami stands out too with a chilling portrayal of a serial killer. His performance is both captivating and convincing on screen. Rest of the supporting cast have done well too. Shakti Kanth Karthik’s BGM elevates the screen play. While Dinesh K. Babu’s cinematography is visually striking. Also, the locations chosen for the script are quite apt. Anwar Ali’s editing keeps each episode crisp and engaging. It is good one-time watch crime thriller series that shouldn’t be missed. It is rated A due to some disturbing scenes and drugs use.
