Kurangu Pedal (2022) Tamil movie Review :- Thank you Bhanu Shankar for the nice recommendation. The movie is about a father played by Kaali Venkat, who had grown up without learning how to ride a bicycle and his young son played by Santhosh Velmurugan, who constantly tries to get money by any means, so that he can practice riding a rented bicycle for 50 paise/hour as it is set in the wonderful 80’s. Though they both are core to the plot, but they are well supported by other interesting characters like “Military”, “Songi Mani”, “Teacher” to name a few. The director should be appreciated for taking care of attention to detail in presentation in such a way that it transports the viewers to that bygone era. The performance of Kutti Mariyappan is just amazing and so close to reality. The same can be said about each and every character in this movie. Kali Venkat is impressive too with a restrained, but natural performance. Despite whatever barriers the kids face, they do overcome them and achieve the so called dreams. That includes cycling to the village mountain one day. The cinematography and BGM is done well. All in all, a really good movie everyone should see it. My rating is 8.5 /10. Highly recommended.
