I liked this movie for its simplicity in plot, but quite uniqueness in its presentation. Aravind Krishna (Shree Vishnu) has a weakness since his childhood days, he can’t chose between two options or more. He is good in writing easy writing, in which he scores top, whereas, he goes blank with multiple choices.

So, we find just one pair of dress in his cupboard every time he comes from bath. He has one more weakness, he can’t face a girl and speak to her. There is a flashback for the same which is revealed later on as the movie progresses. His dad registers him in a marriage bureau, but years pass without any suitable proposals for his son, our hero. Then he goes and sees a girl Swetcha (Nivetha Perthuraj). Something clicks between them while left alone for a conversation.

Luckily, the girl side agrees for the marriage proposal. Everything seems to go smoothly until the day of engagement. Something happens on the engagement day which almost brings the alliance to a breaking point. However, their understanding and friendship is strong that it goes beyond that problem.

However, there comes is a major twist towards the interval block. Aravind aka Aru is once again given two options to choice like in his exam days at school. He gets confused which one to chose? Problems starts when he meets a bizarre girl Renu (Amrutha Srinivasan) in Mumbai. How an indecisive Aravind takes a decision that takes the story forward.

Mental Madilo though a simple story, it does have a solid message which made me to ponder over it. It makes clear that love comes easily, but it is commitment in life which is really difficult. Many relationships fall apart not because of love, but due to lack of understanding, clarity and above all commitment. This movie shows that very beautifully, yet in subtle manner.

I would love to see this one again. My rating is 4/5. Recommended if you haven’t yet seen it.
