The Silent Children

Detective Inspector Robyn Carter series is getting better with every single book. Robyn is now one of my fav characters along with Kim Stone and Erica Foster. This is the 4th book in the series and I recommend you start with book#1 to keep up with Rybon’s personal story. The books in order are : Little Girl Lost, Secrets of the Dead, The Missing Girls then this one, The Silent Children.

I like Carol’s clever writing style. The story progresses chapter wise into present and past. Like her other books, the suspense kept me going. I had to read it fast to know the mystery….I found another series to keep me occupied while waiting for a Kim or Erica book. The next book would be out in March 2018, I think.

I’ve learnt so much more about what kind of woman Detective Robyn Carter is, not only in her job. But also the pieces of puzzle of her personal life which the writer started giving from the end of third book. The mystery of the Robyn’s personal life continues. Now, she has a nice cat to give her some company at home.

The body of a man is found shot dead in his car in a park by a young child. Soon afterwards a woman is found murdered at the bottom of her stairs in her house They both appear to be two different murders, so Robyn splits her team to deal with two cases at same time. However, her instinct tells her that they both could be related and there could a serial killer…is her hunch true like always? Even the motive for these two killings are hard to guess this time..

My rating is 4.5/5.
