This is the second by Carol E. Wyer and DI Robyn Carter. This one ended better than the first book. I have started to like this series after DI Kim Stone and DI Erica Foster series. Like the first book, this one too had good suspense running through it which kept me engaged.
“Three murders, three innocent victims and what secret did they share with the killer?” forms the crux of the well written plot. Like previous book, it has nice twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. Also a good happy ending that makes this one even better than the previous one. Robyn’s past and her personal life with her late husband’s family. Especially, his daughter Amélie is the best part of the book. Actually, some positivity is needed in dark serial killer crime series like this one. That will balance the mood of a reader. Also works as a welcome relief!
Also this book goes on to prove that the life of a detective isn’t an easy one. Robyn has to go through sleepless nights to track down the killer. This just speaks about the dedication of her and her team. I look forward to read the next book in this series.
My rating is 4.5/5.
